Rats are rodents measuring up to 25 cm in length excluding their tail, with a weight that can reach up to 500 g, although most of them typically weigh between 250 and 300 g. Their lifespan is about one year, and a female can give birth to up to 8 litters, each consisting of around ten baby rats.
