These insects can reach an impressive size of 12 mm. They thrive in humid and warm environments, such as bathrooms and toilets, and are often found in the interstitial areas between the floor and the wall, at the bottom of door frames, or in defective tile joints.

Mainly nocturnal, these insects develop slowly and can live for more than 2 years. Their diet is very diverse, feeding on anything they encounter along their path. The ideal temperature for their development ranges between 25°C and 35°C, but they can also survive at temperatures as low as 15°C.
